(S(S)AB) Gone With The Wind

In 1981, I went to Canada to study as a young lad.

Back then, there was no Internet or WhatsApp. Long-distance calls cost CAD 2.70 per minute, letters took at least 14 days for a round trip, and postal strikes were frequent. These limitations often left me homesick, inspiring many of my later compositions related to longing for home.

One such piece is Riding the Wind, which captures the bittersweet emotions of setting out alone and facing an imminent farewell. It conveys a mix of excitement for the journey ahead, intertwined with an overwhelming sense of reluctance and nostalgia.
