慈母手中線 - SSA (The Sewing Threads in the Hand of a Loving Mother)

序:

1981年赴加拿大求學時，還是一個青澀的少年。那時沒有網際網路，長途電話每分鐘要價2.7加幣，書信來回最快也需十四天，加上郵政常常罷工，使得思鄉情愈加濃烈。或許正因如此，日後創作了不少與思鄉相關的樂曲，《慈母手中線》便是其中之一。這首曲深情滿溢，揉合了母親的關愛、父親教誦唐詩的片段回憶，以及臨行前的不捨與故作瀟灑的複雜心情。

Program Note:

In 1981, I went to Canada to study. I was just a young lad back then. There was no Internet, and long-distance calls cost CAD 2.70 per minute. The quickest turnaround for letters was fourteen days, and the postal service often went on strike. This made me quite homesick, which inspired me to write many songs about homesickness. "Threads of a Mother's Love" is one of them. This piece is filled with emotions, blending memories of my mother's care, my father's teachings of Tang poetry, and the bittersweet feelings of departure, trying to appear nonchalant while feeling deeply reluctant to leave.
